Obesity Management Evidence-Based Programs Listing

Overweight and obese weight status are associated with a higher risk of getting 13 types of cancer. These cancers make up 40% of all cancers diagnosed in the United States each year. The risk of cancer increases with the more excess weight a person gains and the longer a person is overweight. Maintaining a healthy weight lowers the risk of getting cancer. The focus of this EBCCP program area is on obesity management through lifestyle interventions, which can help people change their physical activity and diet to lower their weight.
