About Us: Our Mission, Goal, and What We Do

Evidence-Based Cancer Control Programs (EBCCP) is sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). EBCCP’s mission is to transform cancer control research into evidence-based community and clinical practice to reduce the burden of cancer on the population.

EBCCP aims to provide program planners and implementers in clinical and public health settings easy and immediate access to evidence-based program materials and other resources so that programs can be adapted and implemented widely.

EBCCP includes a searchable database of research-tested cancer prevention and control interventions, providing seamless access to:

  1. Ready-to-implement programs evaluated in a research study and found effective
  2. Summaries detailing the study, need, program, time required, intended audience, suitable settings, required resources, and links to the study publication(s)
  3. Program scores for research integrity, intervention impact, dissemination capability, reach, effectiveness, adoption, and implementation
  4. Program materials used with a particular population in a specific setting
  5. Insights from the Field implementation case studies detailing how programs have been used and adapted in practice
